Take card payments in person with Tap to Pay

The best moment to get paid is while you are still standing in front of the client. Tap to Pay turns your Android phone into the card terminal: no hardware, no "I'll pay online later".

What you need

• The WorkZen Android app on an NFC-capable phone.
• A connected Stripe account.
• The record payments permission. An admin completes the one-time setup and accepts the payment terms; after that, any teammate with the permission can collect.

Collect a payment

1. Open the invoice (from the invoice itself or from its job) and go to the Payments tab.
2. Tap Tap to Pay. The sheet shows the balance due and any processing fee.
3. If tips are enabled, your client picks a tip: your preset percentages, None, or Other.
4. Review the summary (subtotal, processing fee, total to charge) and tap Review Payment.
5. Choose Tap to Pay (or Card reader if you use one). When the screen says Ready to Collect, your client holds their card, phone, or watch near the top of your device.
6. On Payment Successful, you can email a receipt, capture a signature, or show a QR code your client scans to view the receipt.

The payment records against the invoice instantly, the invoice status updates, and the payment appears in your Payments list like any other. Nothing to reconcile later.

Fees and tips

Tap to Pay uses exactly the same settings as online payments: the fee passthrough percentage and the tip options you configured apply in the field too. One set of rules, every way you get paid.
